Udyam Registration is the official process for registering MSMEs in India. However, it can be cancelled if the business no longer falls within the MSME classification, changes its business structure, or is merged with another entity. This process is known as Udyam Registration Cancellation.
After cancellation, MSME owners no longer receive any benefits from their Udyam Certificate and their MSME status is permanently revoked.
Understanding Udyam Registration
Udyam Registration is an online process launched by the Ministry of MSME in July 2020, replacing the old Udyog Aadhaar system. After registration, MSME owners receive a Udyam Registration Number and a Udyam Certificate, which enables their businesses to access numerous benefits:
